We love our coffee, with WFM finding missing my Americano from work and our old small espresso machine was really not hitting the mark. The old machine had been fine for the weekend but now missing the professional coffee from the week.
Wasn’t wanting a fancy espresso machine where you have to do all the work, I wanted something I just had to at most top up the water and press a button. Yet I want it to make a coffee that tasted as good as the coffee I bought from a cafe.
So, I also made sure we had decent coffee beans (Granville 49 in Vancouver). Got the machine, tried it out. Am I happy?!? Super happy. The “coffee” mode with two shots are our go to (similar to Americano but taste slightly different). I also have love the cappuccino, I have max froth and I add an extra espresso shot, the milk device that makes the froth work amazingly well.
The espresso/coffee we get out of this literally tastes as impressively good as that I got from the cafe (same beans, $1000 machine compared to their $25,000 machine). So I’m super happy.
One slight quirk, it will tell you when it needs water, tell you when it needs emptying. But it doesn’t tell you when the bean hopper is empty – just makes coffee with not coffee! Still the hopper is a decent size so this doesn’t happen too often. Just a strange thing for Philips to miss!

Love it! If you need help deciding between which model to get – frother or latte go. Here’s my opinion. I decided with latte go mainly because I had an espresso machine before which broke down, but I was obsessed with frothing the milk and doing latte art (for a good 1-2months) then I kind of got sick of it and sometimes wished I could drink a latte without doing so much work! And when I’m running late to work, there’s no time to manually froth milk. The 3200 latte go is worth the extra money for the convenience and added drink options. It literally makes my latte in 3min, machine start up is instant, and clean up is so easy. Btw, making green tea latte and other milk based drinks are possible. Select latte macchiato and stop the milk when it’s done dispensing. **Make sure to follow the first time set up instructions (very tedious, takes 15min but a must. Do it so that if there’s ever a mechanical failure with the machine in the long run, you did your part. There’s a step by step video on it from the manufacturer)**
Some reviews had mentioned how it doesn’t vent well and is prone to mold build up….. (let me explain – the machine can take whole beans or pre-grinded beans). The pre-grinded bean area is the same area as the vent.
1. The whole beans section has an “aroma seal” so the steam won’t affect it.
2. if you want to use pre-grinded beans, it does say to only use 1 scoop per each coffee, so the machine can vent itself after each use.
3. If you are worried about mold build up, I would suggest to use whole coffee beans. The machine has a built in grinder. I don’t see any reason to purchase pre-grinded beans instead.
Espresso machines can vary in price so I suggest do your own research. For me this did seem expensive at first but after comparing this to other super-automatic espresso machines, this one is considered to be priced entry level. I’ve been using the machine for over a month now with not a single issue, and I can say the price is well justified! After all it is an investment if you drink coffee everyday.

Really works well. Easy to use, fantastic coffee. Use the Lavazza Espresso coffee for best results.
What would I change? The hopper design is okay but I find I have to move the beans towards the grinder once it starts getting low and it is hard to fill on the counter if you have cupboards above your coffee station. The spout for the milk could be positioned a bit better so that the cup doesn’t have to be at the edge, and the last think I would like is a one button program so that I can program my cappuccino, 2 shots of espresso and one coffee in one cup.
This sound nit picky and it is but overall I would buy this again in a heartbeat and very happy with the purchase. The coffee is on par with my Nespresso without the cost and waste of the pods. I figure my payback will be in less than a year while enjoying a fresh amazing coffee experience.
